Aleksandar Stevanović

Dr. Stevanovic is an Associate Professor of Civil & Environmental Engineering at the Swanson School of Engineering, at the University of Pittsburgh. He has earned his B.Sc. in Air Transportation in the College of Traffic and Transportation Engineering at the University of Belgrade (Serbia), followed by M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Civil Engineering at the University of Utah. His research interests include traffic control systems, intelligent transportation systems, sustainable transportation, connected and automated vehicles, urban air mobility, multimodal hardware in loop simulation, etc. Dr. Stevanovic has published more than 200 journal and conference papers and presented at more than 120 international and national seminars. He has been a principal investigator on 35+ research projects for a total of ~ $5 million in funding and has authored more than 40 technical reports for various transportation agencies, including TRB/NAS, NSF, UDOT, UTA, FLDOT, NJDOT, PennDOT, and others. He is currently a member of TRB Standing Committee on Traffic Simulation (ACP80), an ASCE Fellow, a Fulbright Specialist on urban network traffic control (2018-2023), and a member of ITE. His research has been published in multiple reports of national significance and highlighted in a range of media, including TIME magazine.
